Erik Peiker’s story
Erik Peiker had spent most of his career in construction before joining ServiceMaster Restore®. He started working on a roofing crew as a teenager and eventually became a general manager overseeing crews across 12 states. He later launched his own construction business, which he operated for 13 years before exploring franchising. Peiker knew how to run a business independently. He also knew how much responsibility came with building every part of that business on his own.
“I've worked for myself since I was in my early 20s. It's good, but when it's bad, it's real bad. We did reconstruction for a lot of different mitigation companies around Colorado and surrounding states, and then we transitioned into supplying labor for big catastrophe zones like hurricanes and wildfires.” - Erik Peiker
His idea of franchising began to change after selling one of his business ventures to Bass Pro Shop. Working with a larger organization showed him the value established infrastructure could provide. That experience eventually led him to consider restoration franchise opportunities. As Eric researched, he wanted a system that was actively engaged with its owners and gave him room to grow. ServiceMaster Restore® stood out in part because of its territory structure and national network of resources.
He converted his operation and, by August 2026, owned nine ServiceMaster Restore® licenses covering markets between Northern Denver and Southern Colorado Springs. For an experienced operator comparing a commercial construction franchise, Eric’s story highlights the role that the right infrastructure can play in your decision.
